Update from Mayor Briggs:
Flat Run Bridge
The contractor and SHA are prepping for stream diversion and demolition of bridge. They continue to work on support of excavation for footings. Concerns over Town's waterlines and location of bridge have arisen over the past week.
Current plan is to resume work on Wednesday July 26th. This is contracted work between SHA and the contractors. The contractor had concerns that they brought to SHA and they stopped work until those issues were resolved. Once they resume, work will be finished to Jamison Street on the North Side then they will start on the South Side beginning on the west end of the project.
Last information staff received is that it will resume on July 26th with a local detour in place from the 26th through the 29th. There will be brief interruptions to the water service to 1-5 E. Main and 2 W. Main as connections are made.
Clearing of the park has been completed; staff is taking measurements and will be advertising for a request for proposals for the fence.
The Frederick County building permit has been issued, however the State Health Department still has not issued the permit for the contractor to begin work. Staff and the contractor met with representatives from the Health Department on June 23rd. State Health Department requested a few corrections/additions which the contractor has supplied so we are just waiting for final approval.
